For Mom

I’m very inspired by my mother’s nickname for my sister and I, her “baby birdies”. I decided to build this lovely birdhouse diorama to showcase my mother’s love for my sister and I and the strong bond we all share. Nestled inside a mixed media nest are three chickadees, one of my mother’s favorite birds, surrounded by layers of cut wallpaper samples arranged to create warmth and depth.
