Photo transfer on collaged hymnals, 2026

In this photo series, I aimed to link nature, femininity, sexuality, and spirituality. These four photographs tell the story of two sapphic women, using nature as a background for them to express their desires. I chose to transfer these photographs onto old hymnals to explore the harm that religion has done to same-sex couples. Placing them in this natural background allows my subjects to reclaim their spirituality and sexuality through nature rather than a traditional church.
