Double Vision

Through these paintings, I explore the complex relationship between humans and the environment by showcasing how capitalism and greed have harmed the world around us. These works showcase the cost of our greed through dual scenes of natural prosperity and adversity highlighted in monochromatic palettes that divide the natural from the unnatural. This body of work is inspired by pop art and its usage in works of protest, highlighting environmental issues in vibrant scenes that are impossible to ignore. Through these works, I hope to bring to light how humans have harmed the earth and inspire the community around us to take a stance against the capitalist structures that have brought us to the point of environmental destruction. Artists such as Evelynne Axell, Magenta LN, and Orphans Inc are my greatest inspirations for these works due to their use of color and duality in their protest-themed works.
